But without further ado…..
IT’S FINALLY HERE!!!! The world-premeire of Pip and Vershawn’s very first music video!!!!!!! Let us know your favorite line/part!
Just a few things to credit and note, from Pip himself!
“Hi everyone it’s me Pip! I want to say, a huge thank you to Yungg Bo aka GSB Bo aka my very good friend Vershawn Hudson-Crawford who deserves all the credit for writing this song, and all the vocal work!
A huge thank you to Vershawn’s little brother Brayden for being my professional dancer! We can’t wait to put you in more videos Brayden! I think you may steal some of my spotlight for sure! And we’ll make sure all your brothers get a part in the next video too!
Here we are being featured on tv for our video!
Thank you to my daddy for helping with shooting the video yesterday, and a huge thank you to my mommy for filming and editing this video.
I would also like to thank Anna Marlis Burgard for donating money to help me and Vershawn pay for my studio time; Komplexx Beatz for providing such dope beats for all my music; Eric at Studio 407 for working with me even though I’m a cat (and mixing this to sound AMAZING)!
A huge thank you to Joe KroArt and Ocean Gallery for the new sign they just added to their building and I feature here!
I don’t really meow, I squeak (hence why some call me Pip-Squeak, even though that’s not where my name comes from). Anyway, when I squeak my family calls it “Pipping” which is where the name of this song comes from! I’ll try to put a video of me “Pipping” in the comments section!
Back in November Mommy was substituting a middle school class. It was before I was really famous, but there were a lot of kids who knew who I was. When one of the students asked Mommy what her next plans were for me, she said, “You know what I really want, is for Pip to have an alter-ego that is a rapper. I just think that would be so cool, and such a great platform for him to connect positive messages with today’s youth, while getting to work with someone who is truly talented and deserves to have their talent shared with the world.” A kid in the back sat up and said, “Hey my brother is a rapper, you guys should totally do that project together!’ And the rest is history! So THANK YOU to Tevon for making those first introductions.
And again, thank you to Vershawn (and Eric) for hearing this idea and believing in it, even though it sounded crazy! And thank you to Vershawn’s mom for letting me and my mommy totally kidnap him at random to work on this wild project!”
Keep an eye out for a couple clips we snuck in that many of you have been missing! And again, Pip’s mom here, I cannot emphasize enough how thankful I am to Vershawn for listening to my idea about a cat rapper, and jumping on board so quickly to this project, no questions asked. I am so happy we are now friends, and I hope you know that we are here for you whenever you need us! It has truly been a joy to get to know your family and to work on these creative projects together.
And I just want to really quickly mention that the vocals on this track are all Vershawn, who is only 15 years old! When we first met, I told him I just wanted a rap written about Pip, I gave him the link to Pip’s website (which at the time had about 3 posts), and less than an hour later Vershawn had written this entire rap about Pip’s story. It truly captures Pip’s story, which if anyone of you don’t know, he was literally a little dirty feral kitten that no one wanted, not even the Humane Society, that now is a children’s book author, stuffed animal designer, philanthropist, avid volunteer, t-shirt designer, and all around STAR! This just goes to show that even the most unwanted animals can be rescued and bring joy not only to their families, but everyone around them!
