A couple of weeks ago, Pip received an envelope full of letters…
We read them together and even featured them on our Fan Mail Friday post, and it was clear that he had an entire kindergarten class following along with his adventures! They had each written a letter to Pip and as a class had made a map that gave directions to Pip on how to get to their school from Ocean City.
Here is the map!
So obviously we knew we had to go visit them! So we followed the map and surprised the whole class! They had no idea we were coming!
Of course the teachers knew, so we had an assembly planned for Pip to give a presentation to all the Weems Elementary kindergarteners! He got to show his videos, do his tricks, and answer lots and lots and lots of questions!
We of course want to thank Ms. Lynn DeFazio for being such a vibrant educator and seeing a way to connect Pip’s adventures into her classroom!
Ms. DeFazio is an avid helper of animals, specifically cats, as she has founded her own rescue! You can learn more about the Forgotten Felines of Culpper a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue here or on Facebook here! And if you want to see their available animals you can go here!
If you are interested in Pip visiting your school, all you have to do is contact us! We have several presentations prepared, Pip loves to teach about his story and do meet and greets, but he also has lesson plans and presentations developed to teach students about the right and wrong way to treat animals, and another lesson prepared that teaches the process of writing your own book and the self-publishing process! And of course, we are more than welcome to develop a new lesson for whatever your classroom might need.
Visiting schools is one of our main volunteer projects. To learn more about what Pip does to volunteer go to www.pipthebeachcat.com/volunteer.
